Rumah Sanur Creative Hub in an inclusive space for all of the community.

In 2016, the creative hub revitalised its space to become difability friendly. The renovations included; purpose-built facilities for difability access, the refurbishment of existing ramps to enable safe and easy wheelchair access, a dedicated pick-up and drop-off zone, a custom built canopy structure to provide safe access from the rain and difabled toilet facilities.

Continuing Rumah Sanur – Creative Hub’s commitment to providing skills development workshops for Bali’s difabled community—Rumah Sanur is happy to announce a series of Differently Abled Workshops beginning this week.

Innovation and being part of the creative industry ecosystem is an important part of what we do at Rumah Sanur. The Differently Abled Workshop program aims to make sure everyone in our community has access to opportunities to further their development’, says Rumah Sanur’s Co-Founder, Ayip Budiman.

In partnership with Puspadi Bali and Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan (YPK) Bali, and supported by Planet Wheeler and Australia Volunteers International (AVI), Rumah Sanur presents a range of workshops—from photography, art, craft, online marketing to job and cv preparedness.

To begin the series Rumah Sanur is proud to present Achmad ‘Bang Dzoel’ Zulkarnain—a renowned professional photographer from Banyuwangi, East Java. Dzoel was born without arms or legs but prefers people to focus on his ability through this art form, rather than his difability. His photographic work has gained thousands of followers on Instagram and has received national and international recognition, including a feature story on Al Jazeera. Dzoel likes empowering difabled people to follow their dreams, as he does.

Dzoel will present an exhibition and give an artist talk on Saturday 23 March from 6pm. The following day Dzoel will give a workshop on photography for Bali’s difability community.

Other workshops in the series include How to Grow Your Presence Online and Marketing on Your Mobile by Korniawan Prabowo, a leather wallet making workshop with Yakkum Jogjakarta, a Pimp My Prostheticworkshop led by Puspadi Bali, a natural cyes workshop with Cinta Bumi Artisans and CV & Job Readiness workshops with D-Network.
